23rd March 2005
Following the 2005 press launch for Monster Mania at Donington Race Circuit on 23 March 2005, we have received confirmation from over 20 publications and 4 TV companies that they will be covering Monster Mania and their events this year.
The day at Donington started at midday when journalists were driven by luxury coach from London and Peterborough to the circuit where they were met with light refreshments and a briefing from Simon Leith, MD of Stingray Media Solutions Ltd. They were then treated to a freestyle display by Monster Truck guru Nigel Morris in the world famous Bigfoot 17 and Rob Williams in Red Dragon. The 2 drivers did a series of donuts and jumped the famous line of cars to massive cheers from the journalist audience. A hot lunch was then served before the HPI display team showed off their remote control Savage RC monster trucks which the guests enjoyed playing with, as well as watching!
There were then some passenger rides in Bigfoot for some of the press and a number of interviews and filming of the Monster Mania stars before a beer filled coach took the journalists back to their relevant towns.
Nigel Morris, President of the MTRAE and PRO-MT, and driver owner of Bigfoot 17 said, It was a fantastic day and we would like to thank all the press for making the effort to come to our press launch. We hope to make Monster Trucks as successful and enjoyable in the UK and Europe as it is in the USA. With the correct publicity and press coverage, we are confident we can do this and I feel that the press launch was a great vehicle for promoting the 2005 Monster Mania calendar.
